DAC7 is a new European Directive on Administrative Cooperation (DAC) that came into force on January 1, 2023. It aims to improve transparency and efficiency in the taxation of e-commerce. Digital platform's obligation must collect and transmit information about sellers' sales and income to tax authorities.
To comply with the DAC7 directive, digital platforms must obtain DAC registration with local tax authorities. For this, they must complete the Registration form of the DAC7 user. The form requires digital platforms to provide information about themselves, such as their name, address, and contact details. It also requires digital platforms to provide information about the sellers that use their platform, such as the sellers' name, address, and VAT ID.
DAC7 applies to all digital platforms that enable individuals and businesses to sell goods and services in the EU.
DAC report is the process of collecting and transmitting information about sellers' sales and income to tax authorities. The tax authority of the country where the digital platform is registered will automatically exchange the information it has collected about sellers with the tax authorities of the countries where the sellers are resident.

These include: • Marketplaces where sales of goods, such as eBay, Etsy, Amazon, and Alibaba • Crowdfunding platforms such as Kickstarter and GoFundMe • Booking platforms that provide rental of immovable properties services such as Airbnb and Booking.com • Personal services platforms such as Uber and Lyft
Compliance with DAC7 is mandatory for all digital platforms that enable individuals and businesses to sell goods and services in the EU. Failure to comply with the directive can result expense of paying a fine of up to 2% of the platform's annual turnover.
